(Atlanta, GA - October 22nd, 2012) - This year the Atlanta Hip Hop Day Festival will partner with Hosea Feed the Hungry to mobilize young voters to the polls on October 27th. Atlanta Hip-Hop Day is an annual, outdoor festival designed to pay homage to Hip-Hop History and Atlanta's contribution to the Hip-Hop culture. The free, family-oriented, festival will be filled with activities, music, food, live entertainment, and special performances by Atlanta's hottest Hip-Hop Acts & DJ's that include with more being added: Pastor TroyOJ Da Juiceman, Charlie Boy Gangthe Shop Boyz, TheATL Funk Lordz Laced 2 Wreck 2 B-Boy And Dance Battle, Atlanta Pro Audio Beats & Breaks DJ and Producer Battle, and Carlos Period & Mad Clout (organizers of the Steel Wheels and Sign of the Times Art Show in Atlanta) will be organizing the Graffiti Wall of Fame that will feature some of Atlanta's most prolific graffiti artists.

The following is a statement from Hosea Feed The Hungry: "Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless' involvement with Hip Hop Day is twofold; election day is right around the corner, our goal is to educate and engage the youth and young adults in exercising their right to vote. Additionally, we want to empower them to use this powerful tool. During this event, we will mobilize our volunteers in an effort to get as many young adults to the voting polls. Collaborating with leaders from the Hip Hop community and other community organizations will create a platform that will not only educate our people on the importance of voting, but it will also address the social and economic challenges our communities face."

In addition, Atlanta's most prominent Hip-Hop contributors will be recognized for their efforts within the Hip Hop Community through an Honoring Ceremony that will feature DJ Tony Tone of the Cold Crush BrothersOrganized Noize, and more!

Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless will bridge the gap between generations--this event is the perfect opportunity for the civil rights activists and the youth of today-both will come together-to celebrate the legacy of leaders that paved the way and fought for us to have the right to---VOTE!
