King, has taken up residency with B.B. King's Blues Band featuring The "Voice" Michael Lee .  King has been performing on her own well before the passing of her father across the world and has in every note she belts out, been keeping her fathers' legacy alive. Claudette King , daughter of blues legend B.B. King, will perform on Sept. 18 at the Niagara Falls Blues Festival For the past five years, local singer Marsha McWilson has organized the “Gospel Brunch” as part of the annual Niagara Falls Blues Festival, but this year she’s extending her event and bringing in who may be one of the festival’s most noteworthy performers.  Claudette King, daughter of the late blues legend B.B. King, will perform at the festival on Sept. 18. Following in her father’s footsteps “The Bluz Queen” has made her own name in the music business as a blues and jazz singer. After a solo performance, she will join McWilson, who will open for King with her tribute to Etta James, and the two will close out the festival together. “B.B. WEST SPRINGFIELD – Music has long been a family affair with the Neville Brothers and the tradition continues with Charles Neville and his two sons, Khalif and Talyn when they bring a taste of New Orleans to the Majestic Theater on Aug. 18.   Charles will present an evening described as “jazz standards, New Orleans funk, rhythm & blues, and Mardi Gras Indian Songs.” Charles explained to Reminder Publications the show might feature some “special guest vocalists.” His two sons are 18 and 13 years old and the two-generational group has been playing a number of festivals, some locally such as the Green River Festival and was as the New Orleans Jazz Festival. Khalif performed as a solo artist at the recent Springfield Jazz and Roots Festival. The King of the Blues never contested claims from women during his decades of touring who came forward saying he was the father of their babies — even though a low sperm count made it highly unlikely. Now, a year after his death, as memories of a loving, generous parent slip away, his descendants go to war in court. When bluesman B.B. King died last year, he bequeathed to the world a body of work spanning six decades that brought joy and comfort to millions. The crooner of "The Thrill Is Gone" and "Sweet Sixteen" transformed American music, inspiring such rockers as Eric Clapton, Willie Nelson and Buddy Guy. King was 89 when he succumbed to congestive heart failure in his Las Vegas home and died peacefully in his sleep on May 14, 2015. The year since then has been decidedly less peaceful.
