'College-ish','Black-ish' Spinoff Officially Ordered to Series at Freeform
The 13-episode comedy starring Yara Shahidi and Deon Cole will premiere in early 2018. It’s official: Freeform has closed a deal for a 13-episode order to half-hour single-camera comedy College-ish (working title), a spinoff of ABC’s hit series Black-ish, for premiere in 2018. Starring Black-ish breakout Yara Shahidi and Deon Cole, from Black-ish executive producer Kenya Barris, College-ish follows the Johnson’s eldest daughter Zoey (Shahidi) as she heads off to college and quickly discovers that not everything goes her way once she leaves the nest. The series is described as a contemporary take on the current issues facing both students and administrators in the world of higher education.
