Image
By  Natles   On Sunday at the  2013 American Music Awards ,  Rihanna  accepted the first ever  Idol Award . For a special night the pop star needed special hair, so of course she turned to her longtime hairstylist  Ursula Stephen . Ursula gave Ms. Fenty a  ”wrap” ["doobie"], which is created by brushing the hair in one direction around the circumference of the head and securing with bobby pins. Most sistahs reserve this style for the comfort of their own home, but Rihanna boldly hit the award show wrapped tight [and she f*ckn killed it]. Elle Magazine  spoke with Ursula Stephen, to get the lowdown on the inspiration behind RiRi’s wrap on the red carpet and to see if she thinks the style will become a bona fide trend. Whose idea was it for Rihanna to wear a doobie wrap? It was actually Rihanna’s idea. She had her mind made up! Honestly, I was a little hesitant but I knew she could pull it off, so I was all for it. Did you anticipate the overwhelm

Is Kmart's New "Show Your Joe" Christmas Commercial too risque?

Image
A new Kmart commercial that depicts a group of men in boxer shorts shaking their booty to a commonly sung Christmas carol has some viewer's undies in a bunch. The 55-second ad created an online maelstrom yesterday and today when it was aired on national TV. The commercial, dubbed "Show Your Joe," begins with a wide angle shot of six men, who appear to be dressed in tuxedos, standing behind a curtain while ringing bells. However, a few seconds into the clip the curtain is whisked away, revealing the men's bottoms are clad in Joe Boxer underwear. Racy? Not really, but it's what happens next that has some viewers up in arms. The men squat down and begin shaking their booties to the song "Jingle Bells." The typical interpretation of their actions is that the men's xxxxx are swinging in their shorts, thus creating the bell sounds. The commercial is part of a new advertising campaign for Joe Boxer, a brand of underwear and related apparel

“Sadly, newly elected party Chair Dubose Porter is not a man of his word" FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE   Nov. 14, 2013 - ATLANTA -- (November 12, 2013 - Decatur, Georgia) – Former State Senator Steen Miles, a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, today filed an official complaint with the Georgia Democratic Party against Chairman Dubose Porter for violation of the party’s bylaws. “Sadly, newly elected party Chair Dubose Porter is not a man of his word and is in violation of Section 7 Section 1.7 of the Georgia Democratic Party Bylaws which explicitly prohibits supporting a Democratic candidate who has opposition during a primary or special election. The blatant disregard of other Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate and publicly stated support and other actions favoring one candidate over others is a clear violation of party rules, thwarts the democratic process and perpetuates ‘good ole boy’ blatantly discriminatory practices,” said Senator Miles. “It is not a good l
