                     WASHINGTON, D.C. - President Barack Obama hosted his final  Kennedy Center Honors  gala at the White House. The president and first lady Michelle Obama were introduced after the inductees: actor  Al Pacino ; gospel singer  Mavis Staples ; Argentine pianist  Martha Argerich ; singer-songwriter  James Taylor;  and  Don Henley ,  Timothy B. Schmidt  and  Joe Walsh , the surviving members of the Eagles.    Sean Penn, Garth Brooks, Aretha Franklin, David Letterman ,  Diana Ross ,  Kevin Spacey  and  Ringo Starr  were just a handful of the stars drawn to the event to toast the five honorees and see the Obamas sing their Kennedy Center swan song. The parent company for Roscoe's Chicken 'N Waffles has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, the Wall Street Journal reported. The company owes about $1.6 million from a jury verdict and $1.5 million in attorneys' fees to a former employee who sued for discrimination and wrongful-termination in 2013, according to the newspaper. The bankruptcy filing doesn't necessarily mean the restaurants will be closing however. Companies often file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in order to restructure their debts. There are currently seven Roscoe's Chicken 'N Waffles locations; six in Los Angeles County and one in Orange County. The original Roscoe's opened in 1975 in Long Beach. L ast night, I did a double take when I thought I heard Romney again- BASHING China.  I just could not believe it. I believe I also heard him state (in a nut shell) he would shut China down. Was I mistaken? I'm not sure but as I see it, CHINA has us gripped (Yes, the US of A) and we have allowed it for so long that we are in MAJOR debt to them. Not only have we allow ourselves to become  DEPENDENT  on their RICE, we are   very heavily  DEPENDENT  on their Soy products not to mention Wal-Mart!!!!!!!   BTW, and let us NOT leave out  Thailand  and Japan. It was in that lil twinkling of a moment that I knew that beyond a shadow of a doubt that Obama will win for a second term.  Isn't it far better that we remain friends with countries we OWE more than the national debt too then to declare a war that is uncalled for?
