Sir Elton John's Touring Retirement; After 50 Years

Sir Elton John is saying goodbye to life on the road. The music icon announced in a press event on Wednesday that his next world tour will be his last. The three-year tour will start in September. John, who has sold over 200 million albums, has five Grammy wins, a  Tony Award  and an Oscar win for "Can You Feel the Love Tonight." He has been performing since the early 1960s and had a lucrative Las Vegas residency for the past six years. "I've been touring since I was 17 with various bands," John said. "I thought the time is right to say thank you to all my fans and say goodbye." John said his priorities changed when he and his husband, David Furnish, had children. "We had children and had changed our lives and in 2015 we sat down with their school schedule and we said I'm going to miss too much of this," he said. Sir Elton and David welcome their second son.

Sir Elton John 65, and his partner David Furnish , 50 have welcomed their second son via surrogate. The youngest child was born in Los Angeles on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 and the pair announced that Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John joins his older brother Zachary , born via surrogate on on Dec. 25, 2010. “Both of us have longed to have children, but the reality that we now have two sons is almost unbelievable “The birth of our second son completes our family in a most precious and perfect way. It is difficult to fully express how we are feeling at this time; we are just overwhelmed with happiness and excitement.” As for the surrogate who carried Elijah, her identity will remain a secret. "Elton and David love this lady like a sister and they feel indebted to her for life," a source close to the pair said.  "Naturally she has been well rewarded. But her identity will never be revealed." Congratulations!
