Claudette King to stomp Alderman's annual music festival in Chicago

Chicago, Illinois- July 25, 2012-  Claudette "THE BLUZ QUEEN" King, youngest daughter of blues legend, BB King, will be the guest of Alderman, JoAnn Thompson at her 5th Annual 16th Ward Music Festival on 63rd Street in Chicago, Illinois, Saturday & Sunday, July 28-29, 2012 on 63rd Street & Morgan streets.
This annual neighborhood festival is the 5th annual music fest is hosted by Alderman JoAnn Thompson and features great food, music and family entertainment for Chicago's 16th Ward community. Other headliners  slated to perform will be, Vaughn Anthony, younger brother of John Legend, Lacee,  Syleena Johnson and a litany of other southern soul, Gospel and R&B artist's.

Recognizing its significance, Alderman JoAnn Thompson has made the economic revitalization of the 16th Ward her top priority, and has already taken many important steps in doing so.

The neighborhoods of the 16th Ward are of great historical significance to the City of Chicago. From Englewood, once a major South Side commercial district second only to the Loop, to the Gage Park and Chicago Lawn communities and their pivotal role in the Civil Rights Movement, the 16th Ward has a vibrant history and, consequently, a bright future.


Alderman Thompson also recognizes the other components integral to her goal of economic revitalization:
  • public safety,
  • quality public education
  • safe, affordable housing
Alderman Thompson and her staff work tirelessly to put the needs of the 16th Ward residents first and to provide comprehensive city services for all.
