Maurice Gerrard Douglass, Sr. celebrates his 49th Birthday and we would like to showcase a GLIMPSE, into this awesome man of God!......
["Coach Doug"]: Hails from Muncie, Indiana and is a
former American football safety and played eleven seasons in the National
Football League for the Chicago Bears and the New York Giants.
Maurice
Douglass has been coaching
football at his former high school, Trotwood Madison High School in Trotwood,
OH since 2000 and has successfully completed 12 seasons where he took his team
to the Ohio State Football Championship for the past 3 consecutive years.

This well accomplished, gifted, and driven coach is open to opportunities on the college level, and looking forward, out into his future, towards NFL opportunities, nation-wide.
Douglass graduated from Trotwood-Madison High School in 1982 and then played defensive back for Kentucky.
In 1984, he was a junior college transfer from Coffeyville Community College and earned the starting job for Kentucky after two games. He made an interception on his first play from scrimmage against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights team on October 6. Two weeks later he had an interception that set up a 36-yard field goal against LSU.

Born February 12, 1964 in Muncie, Indiana is a high
school football head coach (known as Coach Doug) and former American
football safety that’s played eleven seasons in the National Football League
for the Chicago Bears and the New York Giants.
Douglass played college football at the University of
Kentucky after transferring from Coffeyville Community College.
Douglass played nine seasons with the Bears on special teams and as a nickel
back. He then played two seasons with the Giants.

Douglass totaled three interceptions in his two-year career at Kentucky. In November, he recovered a fumble against North Texas State. That season Kentucky got off to a 5–0 start, but they lost to all. In September 1985, he suffered from a pinched nerve.
The last of his interceptions occurred on November
1985 against the Florida Gators when his 43-yard return set up Kentucky's
touchdown that gave them a 13–12 lead. However, in the waning seconds as they
clung to a 13–12 lead, his attempt at a second interception on an errant
halfback option pass by Douglass was selected to play for the Gray team in
the 1985 Blue–Gray Football
Classic.
In 1982, He returned to coach the team at Trotwood-Madison High school in 2001. In 2006, he led the team to the playoffs for the first time in 25 years. future Bears teammate Neal Anderson slipped away and Florida was able to execute the winning field goal in their 15–13 victory!

Maurice is EDC certified and has a special passion
for educating and supporting students with Emotional
Disturbance. He understands that Students with emotional disturbances can face
unique challenges in the classroom due to their behavior and as such, he
became and remains EDC certified.

As a Personal
Athletic Trainer, Maurice is certified to train athletes on a one-on-one
basis.
Coach "Mo's" Personal Stats:
- 2001 - Started Home Bible Study for Youth which he ran his own home, where Christ as Lord and Savior was recognized
- 1999 –Worked with Outreach Ministries where over 60 youth have come to know Solid Rock Church in Monroe, Oh
- 1997 – Works with youths on Saturday’s at Solid Rock Church in Monroe Oh
- 1997 – Leads a Monday Night Men’s bible Study for Drug Addicted Men
