Wesley Snipes released from prison

Wesley Trent Snipes,  American actor, film producer, and martial artist, who has starred in numerous films, including action thrillers and dramatic features, is a free man... Kind of.




The actor and producer was released from prison this week,  but he will remain on house arrest until this summer.

The 50 year old was serving a three-year-sentence in Pennsylvania for failing to file his federal income tax returns. 

Snipes was incarcerated in December 2010 after being convicted in April 2008 in Ocala, Fla., on three misdemeanor charges of failing to file his income tax returns from 1991 to 2001.

The 50-year-old actor was transferred to the New York Community Corrections Office, who will facilitate his home confinement,


The Federal Bureau of Prisons said Snipes was released on April 2 and will be under house arrest until July 19. 


Snipes is best known for his roles in films, such as the “Blade” trilogy and has appeared in TV shows like “Miami Vice.” He is the father of five children and is married to Nakyung "Nikki" Park
.
