The Porter Sanford III Performing Arts & Community Center is a state-of-the-art, 500 seat theater in the historic Candler Road district, bringing a diverse range of programming possibilities to Southern DeKalb County.
Our goal is to ensure that your organization has a positive and productive experience with this outstanding municipal facility. DeKalb has invested more than 17 million dollars to construct the most advanced performing arts theater in the history of our county. The Center is equipped with digital audio and lighting equipment throughout the entire facility and can accommodate a variety of performances including musicals, plays, ballets, weddings, and concerts.

SCREENWRITING PANEL
Writing to Shoot for Film & Television
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION 7-9pm Classroom 109
The workshop is aimed at developing feature-length scripts, short film scripts, and/or TV treatments ready to shoot or submit to film financiers, television companies, and/or agents. The workshop shall also touch on pitches to be developed into feature films, short films, or TV series, to the adaptation of stage plays and books to which the adapter has film and television rights, to rough draft screenplays in need of rewriting. Emphasis will be placed on sound story structure, story logic, effective dialogue, emotionally compelling characterizations, and the importance of research in creating completely credible storylines.

Post-Production Workshop with Cinevation Media
CEO & Post Production Specialist Nick T. Anderson from Cinevation Media has agreed to lift the curtain and show you the secrets of what goes into making digital footage turn into stunning cinematic imagery with “Keeping Post in Mind”. He will cover how Cinevation Media starts the post process on set and will take you through their workflow all the way to finish. This two hour workshop will teach you about file codecs, when and how to sync audio, logging, basics of color grading, building subtext through editing choices, and more.

THE BATTING CAGE
We're excited to announce we'll be screening our award winning sci-fi short film "The Batting Cage" at the Get Connected monthly film mixer.
Directed by Donte Murry, "The Batting Cage" has screened at several film festivals around the world, and is a 2013 selection of the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner. Set in a post apocalyptic wasteland, the film is about a lonely survivalist who encounters a bombshell android. He plans to sell her for good at the next outpost but there's one problem, he just may be falling in love with her.

I STAND ALONE
This is a character-driven short film following the life of Astasia who desperately needs to break free from her broken past and add meaning to her life. A husband and kids did not fill the void the way she hoped and her life begins to spiral out of control. She is forced to choose a new path before she destroys her own life and those around her.

It's our spoof of both Shark Tank and Honey Boo Boo! We are pleased to bring you the episode which allowed us to become a SAG-AFTRA New Media Production staring Lawrence Van!

Promise From Neptune is a feature length film in pre-production that will be shot on location in Savannah and St. Simons Island, along with at least one other location in middle Georgia. Set mainly in the Civil War period, this project has 42 speaking roles for actors. There will also be many background actor opportunities. It is a compelling tale focused on two men, one born into slavery, the other, his childhood playmate who ultimately becomes his master. The special bond between them takes them from childhood into adult hood, and the journey they take is remarkable. This film is based upon a true story. Golden Isles Production was formed to bring compelling stories to life on the big screen.
