"THE SIGNAL" CALLS LAURENCE FISHBURNE TO CAST


Another Sci-Fi Thriller For Fishburne

Laurence  Fishburne and newcomer Brenton Thwaites are starring in Will Eubank’s indie sci-fi thriller “The Signal,” which begins production next week in New Mexico.

24 year old Brenton Thwaites is an Australian actor, best known for portraying Luke Gallagher in the Fox8 teen drama series, SLiDE, and Stu Henderson in the soap opera Home and Away.

Automatic and Low Spark are producing the project.

FilmDistrict has acquired U.S. distribution for “The Signal,” which also stars Olivia Cooke, Beau Knapp, Sarah Clarke of the “Twilight” franchise, Lin Shaye and Robert Longstreet. E1 is distributing in the U.K., Canada and Spain.


Automatik President Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Low Spark President Tyler Davidson are producing. Script is based on an original idea by Eubank and was written by Eubank, David Frigerio and Carlyle Eubank, with revisions by Sebastian Gutierrez.


Story centers on three college freshmen becoming the targets of a rival computer hacker and being lured to an abandoned shack in the middle of the desert.


Low Spark’s Richard Rothfeld, IM Global’s Stuart Ford, and Charles Layton are exec producing.

Eubank is repped by CAA, Anonymous Content and Bloom Hergott, Diemer, Rosenthal, Laviolette, Feldman, Schenkman & Goodman. 

Fishburne is repped by Paradigm, Landmark Artists, and Del, Shaw, Moonves, Tanaka, Finkelstein & Lezca
