VMAs 2013: Miley Cyrus uses foam hand as sexual prop at MTV Video Awards

Brooklyn enjoyed a starring role at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

Not only did the VMAs, at the Barclays Center, serve as the first major awards show ever beamed from the borough — but its stars, from Lady Gaga to Robin Thicke to Miley Cyrus, walked the red carpet past the iconic brownstones of the neighborhood and through a replica of the Brooklyn Bridge.

But what's up with lady Miley thee days?....

Check out the Smith family — Will Smith, his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, and their kids Jaden, 15, and Willow, 12, took in the MTV VMAs last night, and one very special still shows the family appearing to react with shock and, well, more shock, during Cyrus' lewd performance.

Cyrus reminds viewers that she's no longer a Disney Channel star.


The VMAs, long known for its rude language and surprises, lived up to its crying-for-attention legacy with Cyrus’ performance. Lewdly thrusting out her tongue and nastily stroking her crotch, this one-time teen star worked hard to bag the sleaze award of the night. To cement the title, she stripped down to a flesh-colored bikini during a duet with Thicke on his smash hit “Blurred Lines.”

Thicke's mom, Gloria Loring, wasn't too thrilled to watch the awards show and discuss Cyrus' latex-clad dancing with her son...

"I just keep thinking of her mother and father watching this. Oh, Lord, have mercy. … I was not expecting her to be putting her butt that close to my son. The problem is now I can never 'unsee' it," she said.

Cyrus reminds viewers that she's no longer a Disney Channel star.
