STEEN MILES- Lucky Seven Point Plan
Dear Friends:
I’m Steen Miles and I’m running to be the next Democratic senator for the great state of Georgia. We need a senator in Washington who understands the needs of everyday Georgians. Money from special-interest groups drowns out the voices and needs of ordinary voters as illustrated by President Obama who said in his recent State of the Union Address that, “it is the power of the vote and not the size of the bank account that drives our democracy.” I couldn't agree more.
My primary opponent in the Democratic primary raised $3.3 Million in three months from big money interests and billionaires! Do you have $2600 (maximum allowable per election) to contribute to a political campaign? Most of us do not. We have enough millionaires in Washington who are out of touch with our everyday realities of astronomically high utility bills, mortgages, college tuition's, car payments, medical expenses, etc.
For the past 7 months since our announcement for office on the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington (August 28, 2013), we have withstood sabotage, spies and ugly rumors to get to the point of qualifying for the May 20, 2014 primary election. We have a proven track record of lifetime service to include election to the Georgia State Senate. Now I need your prayers, your vote, and your contribution in whatever amount you can spare for our campaign.
Here’s my seven-point plan to fix Georgia and move us forward.
Please endorse my "7-Point-Plan to fix Georgia” today.
In its simplest form, my plan will:
1. Equal opportunity and Justice (Voting Rights Act, Women’s Reproductive Rights, LGBT Rights, Veterans Benefits, Immigration Reform, Prison Reform, Reduce Gun Violence)
2. Protect and expand the Affordable Healthcare Act,
3. Protect Social Security and Medicare
4. Raise the minimum wage
5. Enhanced educational opportunities (early childhood education, STEM, broadband)
6. Provide “real rail” transit/transportation
7. Protect the environment/encourage investment in renewable energies – sun, wind, water
These are ideas that are focused on solving problems and making a difference for citizens in Georgia and across the nation. Help me build momentum for the plan.
