Columbus Short fired from Scandal... OMG!

Actor Columbus Short has been fired from ‘Scandal’

No,  he will not be returning to ABC’s Scandal when it returns for its fourth season in the fall.  The 37-year-old confirmed that he is in fact exiting the show in a public statement, as insiders claim the actor was fired by the network due to domestic violence allegations lodged by his wife, 31, Tuere Tanee McCall.

McCall was granted a restraining order against Short following accusations that he tried to kill her. She had previously filed for divorce from her husband in September, but records show she changed her mind earlier this year and dismissed the petition.

It comes after reports that Columbus pleaded not guilty to physically attacking Tanee on February 14 at his Woodland Hills home. According to legal documents pertaining to the case: 'Short and his wife started arguing and it got physical. Short's kids - a two-year-old and 10-year-old - were watching.'

The news, of course, comes just weeks after Columbus Short was charged for battery, after he reportedly violently attacked his wife in their Los Angeles home on April 7, threatening to kill both her and himself, due to her alleged cheating.

In an official statement, Columbus confirmed his firing:
At this time I must confirm my exit from a show I’ve called home for 3 years, with what is the most talented ensemble on television today. I would like to first thank Shonda Rhimes for the opportunity to work with such an amazing cast,” Short said in a statement released by his publicist. “Thank you GLADIATORS, who have supported me throughout my entire career and of course to ABC and Shondaland for allowing me to play such a pivotal role in the Scandal series. I have enjoyed every single minute of it. Everything must come to an end and unfortunately the time has come for Harrison Wright to exit the canvas. I wish nothing but the best for Shonda, Kerry and the rest of the cast, who have become like a second family to me in such a short amount of time. For this, I will forever be grateful.

The season three finale of Scandal hinted that Short's character Harrison Wright might be making a final exit from the series as he was held at gun point in the final moments, leaving viewers in limbo. Earlier this week Short was allowed to return to his Chatsworth, California home, but he won't be able to settle in. On Wednesday a judge gave the Scandal star only two hours to pack up his belongings and not return which he reportedly did under the supervision of police officers.

Columbus Short Charged With Battery After Allegedly Attacking His Wife

Columbus’s wife, Tuere Short, filed for divorce, after she was allegedly attacked by her famous husband who threatened to kill her and himself on April 7 in their Los Angeles home.
Tuere claimed that Columbus threatened to hit her with a bottle of wine, poured the wine all over her, choked her and then grabbed a knife for a game called “Truth or Truth,” which put her at knifepoint with Columbus threatening to stab her in the leg, if she liedThis was all prompted by Columbus believing that his wife had cheated on him.
This is not the first time that Shonda has fired one of her actors, during the run of a hit series. The show creator cut Isaiah Washington from Grey’s Anatomy, after he made anti-gay slurs at co-star T.R. Knight.

Does Columbus Short deserved to be kicked off of Scandal?
Will you miss him?
