Angela Lansbury A First-Time Olivier Awards Winner At 89 With 'Blithe Spirit'

Veteran actress Angela Lansbury is a multi-Tony Award winner, but only just picked up her first Olivier. British theater’s most prestigious prizes were handed out tonight in London with Lansbury winning for Best Actress in a Supporting Role as Madame Arcati in Blithe Spirit. The play marked her return to the London stage after an absence of nearly 40 years. Upon accepting the award, Lansbury said, “All these years of waiting. I am so infinitely grateful to have this baby in my hands. Here I am creeping up to 90 and feeling like a million dollars because I’m in London in this magnificent hall with all you – my roots, where I began.”



The evening had other firsts, including a win for Ray Davies, who won Outstanding Achievement in Music for Sunny Afternoon, the biographical tuner about his classic band, The Kinks. Sunny Afternoon had a sunny evening, scoring the most wins overall, including Best New Musical, Best Actor in a Musical (John Dagleish) and Best Supporting Actor in a Musical (George Maguire).
a view from the bridgeThe Young Vic’s A View From The Bridge was crowned Best Revival, and earned the Best Actor trophy for Mark Strong, and the Best Director nod for Ivo Van Hove.
Downton Abbey‘s Penelope Wilton was crowned Best Actress for her performance in Taken At Midnight — in a category that included Gillian Anderson, Kristin Scott Thomas and Imelda Staunton.
Beautiful – The Carole King Musical earned Katie Brayben and Lorna Want the awards for Best Actress in a Musical and Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical. Memphis The Musical had led the nominations going in and ultimately scored two prizes: Choreography and Sound Design.
The show’s finale featured Kevin Spacey and Beverley Knight performing a surprise rendition of the Simon & Garfunkel chestnut Bridge Over Troubled Water. Spacey received a special award in recognition of his tenure as Artistic Director at The Old Vic Theatre and his contribution to the London stage. He has spent 10 years at the helm and is stepping down. 
This win adds to the Murder She Wrote stars incredible line-up of accolades that includes five Tony Awards, six Golden Globe Awards and an Honorary Oscar

'Passengers' Cast Chris Pratt & Jennifer Lawrence Team Up for New Movie

Georgia’s film industry is growing one movie at a time. The next major motion picture to film in the Atlanta area is Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt’s new movie ‘Passengers’. Tom Rothman gave the thumbs-up to  Passengers  with a budget of about $120m after tax incentives. Sony Pictures has just given the nod for the production of 'Passengers,' an interstellar romance starring two big names of Hollywood - Christ Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence. People reported that both the stars are expected to get two paychecks for the upcoming film It's set on a spaceship, the cast is the same size as Gravity's, and the budget is huge.  But what else do we know about 2016's biggest sci-fi film?
