Beyonce and Jay Z Buy a House in New Orleans

Power Play

As in the 1998 smash he made with Jermaine Dupri, Jay Z proves once again that money ain't a thang. He and wife Beyoncé recently purchased a historic 1925 mansion in New Orleans' romantic Garden District for a reasonable (for the Carters, anyway) $2.6 million. See details from inside La Casa de Castile.

New Nola Home

The property, which was first a Presbyterian church followed by a ballet studio, stretches across three stories.

The 13,292-square-foot home features an open floor plan and hardwood floors in each of the property's three apartments.

In keeping with its opulent owners, a dining room features crimson walls and coordinating tufted-velvet chairs.

A finished closet provides ample room for Bey's endless parade of costumes and over-the-top dresses.

An intricately detailed vanity occupies a crimson-walled dressing area in the master bathroom.

A claw-foot tub assumes pride of place in a tiled bathroom. (Insert obligatory surfbort reference here.)

A built-in bookcase is an ideal place for the couples' impressive music collection.

Living Room
A white backdrop is punctuated with mustard walls and a soothing royal blue ceiling.

A cantilevered staircase leads to a well proportioned loft seating area. The high ceilings and hardwood floors in this loft make it the perfect spot for Beyoncé's late-night dance parties to tunes spun by Solange.

Dotted with discreet brass-and-wood fans, the house's 24-foot ceilings impart an airy vibe to the former church building. A neutral color palette in one of the house's living rooms create a feeling of expansiveness. Richly detailed columns and crown molding nod to the house's historic past.

The Carters' new rooftop garden is said to be one of the biggest in New Orleans.

Crimson-hued carpeted floors match rouge walls in one of the property's three master bedrooms.

Kitchen
Will this light-filled kitchen serve as inspiration for a sequel to "Drunk In Love?"

Kim and Kanye might be more at home in this rust-colored guest room.

The house's seven bedrooms will likely provide plenty of space for the Carters' roster of famous friends, including Gwyneth and Tay Swift.

A half-wall divides sleeping and living areas in one of the house's three apartments.

Nola Kitchen

Among the rooms to be renovated with the couple's signature decadent style: this streamlined kitchen outfitted with rustic wood cabinetry.
