Ted Cruz Stuns Crowd, Draws Boos Offers Absolutely No Endorsement (VIDEO)
People may be upset with Cruz for not offering an endorsement and under normal circumstances, many would agree. But Donald launched a vicious campaign that attacked not only Ted Cruz's principles but slung derogatory language at his closest family members and wife. But then again, nothing has been normal about this campaign.
This new controversy with Cruz at the RNC on Wednesday most def outdid Melania Trump’s controversial speech on Monday
In the primary election earlier this year, Sen. Ted Cruz called Republican opponent Donald Trump a “pathological liar.” “Immoral.” A “narcissist.” And a “serial philanderer.”
In short, Cruz didn’t endorse Trump in his speech. Even worse, he insinuated that Republican voters could pick another candidate at the polls this November. And he had the audience fooled almost completely throughout his address (which went much longer than expected).
“Don’t stay home in November,” he said to applause near the end of his speech. But the cheers turned to boos when he continued with:
“If you love your country, and love your children as much as I know that you do, stand and speak and vote your conscience. Vote for candidates up and down the ticket who you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the constitution.”
See it yourself in the video below, and listen to the crowd protest, followed by chants of “endorse Trump!” See how he responds to New York delegates, who were the loudest in protest:
Immediately following his address, Cruz’s wife – Heidi Cruz – had to be escorted out of the arena by security after being harassed by Trump supporters, according to CNN.
The RNC should have expected this type of address.
Note, Cruz staff told them not to expect a “full-throated endorsement.”
The bitterness between them began when Trump tweeted comparative photos of the two candidate’s wives. Trump later apologized.
