Americans across the country are packing up their hotdogs, drinks, and their favorite jerseys into their favorite cars and trucks.  On August 7th, the preseason started as the Green Bay Packers hosted the Indianapolis Colts to kick off the 2016 NFL season.                                         Richard Linklater has found his next project and set an all-star ensemble to lead the film. Linklater will direct and write a long-in-the-works adaptation of the novel “Last Flag Flying,” with Bryan Cranston, Steve Carell, and Laurence Fishburne in talks to star. The movie is a sequel of sorts to the 1973 film “The Last Detail” starring Jack Nicholson and directed by Hal Ashby. Darryl Ponicsan’s “Last Flag Flying,” published in 2005, is the follow-up to his 1970 novel, which was turned into the movie starring Nicholson, Randy Quaid, and Otis Young. Set during the Iraq War, the more recent book sees the return of the classic characters Billy Bad-Ass, Mule, and the hapless Meadows. Here's the date movie of the year.  Southside With You  is also about a date, a first date in the Chicago summer of 1989 between the then-unknown Barack Obama (Parker Sawyers) and Michelle Robinson (Tika Sumpter). Both Sawyers and Sumpter are terrific, world-class charmers who suggest the powerhouses they're playing without undue mimickry. First-time writer-director Richard Tanne wisely avoids any political agenda to focus on two young lawyers starting out in life. The guarded, whip-smart Michelle is adamant about telling the flirtatious Barack, "This is  not  a date."  Sweet, slight and thuddingly sincere, “Southside With You” is a fictional re-creation of Barack and Michelle Obama’s first date. It’s a curious conceit for a movie less because as dates go this one is pretty low key but because the writer-director Richard Tanne mistakes faithfulness for truthfulness. Pharaoh claps back at Karlie Redd...AGAIN AND AGAIN! On Aug. 4, reports began surfacing that “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Karlie “Redd” Lewis had been ordered to stay  200 yards away   from EDM/R&B artist and promoter Christopher Powe, aka Pharaoh.  Pharaoh says the altercation happened Thursday, Aug. 4th at an Atlanta hotel room and that during the argument Redd became extremely volatile and threatened that she would tell people that he raped her. Reports disclosed that "she continued to berate him when he tried to leave the hotel room." Sources say that Redd eventually locked herself in the hotel bathroom and then began threatening to flush Powe’s belongings, including two cellphones, down the toilet.  But the story doesn’t end there.   Now, today, Pharaoh Reigns aka Christopher Powe has slapped Karlie Redd yet again with multiple criminal contempt for violation of the TPO, false imprisonment, unlawful detainment and a ...
