‘Hand in Hand’ Hurricane-Relief Telethon Raises Over $44 Million with Telethon [VIDEO]

The stars came together for the Hand in Hand benefit for hurricane relief, broadcast on iHeartRadio & 17 networks Tuesday in a LIVE TELETHON from:
  • LOS ANGELES
  • NEW YORK
  • NASHVILLE
The one-hour telethon, originally organized to help raise funds for victims of Hurricane Harvey, has since been expanded to also raise money for those affected by Hurricane Irma,  raised more than $44 million for the victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma Tuesday night, with a total of $14 million was raised during the hour-long live show.

 During the telethon, Stephen Colbert announced that Apple was donating $5 million, Jimmy Fallon noted that Albertsons Cos. and Merck each gave $1 million, and Houston Rockets star Chris Paul said that the NBA Players Association not only donated $500,000, but would match any professional basketball player’s donation up to $20,000.

And the Mayor's Fund for Hurricane Harvey Relief (administered by The Greater Houston Community Foundation) through the Hand in Hand Hurricane Relief Fund managed by Comic Relief USA, with more to be announced as the needs for those affected by Hurricane Irma are evaluated.

'Passengers' Cast Chris Pratt & Jennifer Lawrence Team Up for New Movie

Georgia’s film industry is growing one movie at a time. The next major motion picture to film in the Atlanta area is Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt’s new movie ‘Passengers’. Tom Rothman gave the thumbs-up to  Passengers  with a budget of about $120m after tax incentives. Sony Pictures has just given the nod for the production of 'Passengers,' an interstellar romance starring two big names of Hollywood - Christ Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence. People reported that both the stars are expected to get two paychecks for the upcoming film It's set on a spaceship, the cast is the same size as Gravity's, and the budget is huge.  But what else do we know about 2016's biggest sci-fi film?
