2018 BET Awards to Honor Anita Baker Along With 6 Humanitarian Heroes

The annual BET Awards will celebrate the best in music, movies and sports.

Eight-time Grammy-winning R&B legend Anita Baker will be presented with BET's Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2018 ceremony on Sunday, hosted by Jamie Foxx. Baker is regarded as a trailblazer in soul and R&B, with the tracks "Giving You the Best That I Got" and "Sweet Love" hitting the Billboard Hot 100 top 10.
Her towering voice and soulful love songs produced four No. 1s on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart, including Rhythm of Love, Giving You the Best That I Got, My Everything and Rapture. Earlier this year Baker announced her retirement and is currently touring through her farewell concert series, which you can buy tickets to here.
BET will honor six humanitarian heroes for their bravery in 2018. James Shaw Jr., who disarmed the Waffle House shooter; 11-year-old March for Our Lives speaker Naomi Wadler; National Student Walk-Out Day participant Justin Blackman; journalist Shaun King; Parkland survivor Anthony Borges; and Mamoudou Gassama, who climbed outside of a building to save a dangling 4-year-old.

DJ Khaled dominates this year’s nominations with a total of six, including video of the year, while Kendrick Lamar follows closely behind with five nods, including album of the year.
The 2018 BET Awards air on Sunday, June 24, from LA at 8 p.m. ET.
Image result for BET Awards 2018Additionally, Kendrick Lamar and Jay-Z will face off for album of the year, while Tiffany Haddish, Lupita Nyong'o, and Taraji P. Henson are some of the women competing for best actress.
Beyoncé is nominated for best female R&B/pop artist and best collaboration, making her the most nominated artist in the show's history with 60-lifetime nods.
    Nicki Minaj, Meek Mill, and Miguel are some of the artists expected to take the stage to perform.

    'Passengers' Cast Chris Pratt & Jennifer Lawrence Team Up for New Movie

    Georgia’s film industry is growing one movie at a time. The next major motion picture to film in the Atlanta area is Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt’s new movie ‘Passengers’. Tom Rothman gave the thumbs-up to  Passengers  with a budget of about $120m after tax incentives. Sony Pictures has just given the nod for the production of 'Passengers,' an interstellar romance starring two big names of Hollywood - Christ Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence.
