WeHo Wants Trump’s Walk Of Fame Star Gone For Good
But It's Not Up To Them!
The Resolution urges the city of Los Angeles and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to remove the star “due to [Trump’s] disturbing treatment of women and other actions”

Ultimately, it's up to either the Hollywood Chamber or the L.A. Council to decide whether to actually remove it — and the Chamber has said before that, given the historic nature of the Walk of Fame, they would never remove a star for bad behavior.
So why bother? Trump's "disturbing treatment of women and other actions that do not meet the shared values of the City of West Hollywood, the region, state, and country," according to a statement that's part of the Council's agenda item.
Nope, he didn't get his 2007 star for his work on The Apprentice or even his pro wrestling feud with Vince McMahon. It was for his work as producer of the Miss Universe Pageant.
The Council compares the move to how some stars have been removed from the Motion Picture Academy due to their actions toward women in the #MeToo era
"This is an opportunity for decision-makers to take a stand on their values in support of women," the Council's report reads. "Allowing Mr. Trump to continue to have a star in light of his behavior toward women, particularly in the #timesup and #metoo movements, should not be acceptable in the Hollywood and entertainment.
They also suggest revisiting the qualifications for being included in the Walk of Fame for both future honorees and past ones.
More reasons for dumping Trump's star are listed in the Council's staff report, including:
- "The separation of children from their parents at the United States border"
- "Denial of findings from the United States intelligence community regarding Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential election, and continued refusal to hold Russia accountable for its crimes"
- "Denial of the impacts of Climate Change on the world, and withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement
- "His treatment of transgender individuals, including his reversal of an Obama Administration era policy to allow transgender individuals to serve in the military"
- "Plans to divert funding from the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program to cover the cost of child detainment tied to its 'zero tolerance' immigration policy"
However, the West Hollywood City Council argues in their resolution that the Walk of Fame is still the “property of the City of Los Angeles” and that the city has the “ultimate responsibility for the condition and maintenance of the Walk of Fame.” |
The star has been the site of many protests since Trump was elected. |
