Kumail Nanjiani and Tracee Ellis Ross have been tapped to announce the nominations for the 2019 Academy Awards on Tuesday.
The countdown to the Academy Awards is well underway.
We are days away from the Academy announcing their nominees for the 2019 Oscars -- which means we have a little more than one month until Hollywood's biggest night. But before our newest class of Oscar winners are anointed, they first must have the honor of being nominated, and if you're hoping to tune in to see who earns that coveted nod, we've put together a handy guide on the who, what and where.
Who's Announcing the Nominees? 
The Academy has enlisted Kumail Nanjiani (himself a Best Original Screenplay nominee in 2018 for The Big Sick) and Tracee Ellis Ross to present this year's nominees, taking over for 2018's hosts with the most, Andy Serkis and Tiffany Haddish. 
What Time Does It Start? 
The nominees will be announced live on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 8:20 a.m. ET / 5:20 a.m. PT.

She’ll be joined by Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick).

A whopping 347 feature films will be competing to secure a finalist spot in the running for the much-coveted golden statuette known as Oscar. 
The total is a slight increase from last year’s 341 eligible films.
Under Academy rules, a feature-length motion picture is eligible if it has a running time of over 40 minutes, exhibits on a 35mm or 70mm theatrical screen or in a qualifying digital format via a Los Angeles County commercial motion picture theater by December 31. The minimum theatrical run is seven consecutive days.

Anything Else to Watch Out for This Year?
Following the hiring and subsequent departure of Kevin Hart as this year's master of ceremonies, the Academy has stayed mum on who -- if anyone -- will take his place. Might AMPAS use the nominations announcement to also announce a new host? Or to confirm the ceremony will be hostless? That remains to be determined.
The 91st Annual Academy Awards will air on ABC on Sunday, Feb. 24 at 6:30 p.m. ET / 3:30 p.m. PT, live from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

'Passengers' Cast Chris Pratt & Jennifer Lawrence Team Up for New Movie

Georgia’s film industry is growing one movie at a time. The next major motion picture to film in the Atlanta area is Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt’s new movie ‘Passengers’. Tom Rothman gave the thumbs-up to  Passengers  with a budget of about $120m after tax incentives. Sony Pictures has just given the nod for the production of 'Passengers,' an interstellar romance starring two big names of Hollywood - Christ Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence. People reported that both the stars are expected to get two paychecks for the upcoming film It's set on a spaceship, the cast is the same size as Gravity's, and the budget is huge.  But what else do we know about 2016's biggest sci-fi film?
